Scottish games

Here in Scotland we do a great many things for our recreation. One of the most fun things my family does is to go to the Scottish Highland games. These games are held May until September and have great competitions like log tossing, tug of war, and hammer throwing. There are bagpipe contests and Scottish dancing too. They are great fun to attend and we are going to compete next year.

Golf is also popular in Scotland and has been played since the 15th century. The coolest course is in St. Andrews. It is always on TV and is probably one of the oldest courses in Europe. I really don't like golf, but St. Andrews is a neat city. The beach in St. Andrews is in a famous movie about a Scottish runner. The movis is "Chariots of Fire" You should see it--it is very good.
